EMDR Therapy

EMDR Therapy

Processing difficult memories to reduce emotional distress and support healing.

What Is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based psychotherapy that helps individuals process distressing memories and traumatic experiences. EMDR is recognized by the World Health Organization and the American Psychological Association as an effective treatment for trauma.

EMDR uses bilateral stimulation — such as guided eye movements, tapping, or auditory tones — to help the brain reprocess stuck memories so they no longer cause the same level of emotional distress. It is adapted for children using age-appropriate methods.

What EMDR Addresses

Is EMDR Right for My Child?

EMDR is appropriate for children as young as 5 and through adolescence. Our therapists conduct a thorough assessment to determine readiness and tailor the approach to the child’s developmental stage and comfort level.
