Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about therapy, getting started, and what to expect.

Your Questions, Answered

Do you accept insurance?

We are currently in-network with several major insurance providers and offer private pay options. Please contact our office to verify your specific coverage before your first appointment.

How long is a therapy session?

Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes. Play therapy and family sessions may run up to 60–75 minutes depending on the treatment plan and needs of the child.

What age groups do you work with?

We specialize in children, adolescents, and teens from ages 3–18, as well as their families. We offer a range of evidence-based approaches tailored to developmental stage.

How do I get started?

Simply call our office or use the appointment request form on our website. We will match your child with the right therapist and schedule an initial consultation.

What should I tell my child about therapy?

Reassure your child that therapy is a safe, private place to talk and play. You can describe it as meeting a helpful adult who listens and works through feelings together.

Is everything my child says confidential?

Yes, with important exceptions. Therapists are required to break confidentiality if there is a risk of harm to your child or others, or if abuse or neglect is disclosed.

How many sessions will my child need?

Treatment length varies based on the child’s needs and therapeutic goals. Some children benefit from short-term support (8–12 sessions), while others may engage in longer-term therapy.

Do parents participate in sessions?

Parent involvement is highly encouraged, especially for younger children. Depending on the treatment model, parents may join portions of sessions or receive regular progress check-ins.
